The dance and auction are a wonderful semi-formal cowboy affair and lots of fun. Live music, roving entertainment, no host bar, and our now famous hors d'oeurve buffet, are all part of Dance for a Wish. Proceeds of the auction go to several local charities including the Make a Wish Foundation, Camp Agape’ cancer camp, Fisher House at Ft. Lewis, local scholarship programs, and local individuals who need extra help.
This year the dance committee has also chosen to support one of our friends in the western community. As many of you know, Amanda Coats was severely injured in an automobile accident a few months ago. Amanda has been a tremendous competitor at all levels of rodeo, barrel racing, roping, basketball, volleyball, and scholastics. She has been a good friend to all she has competed with and against. Because of her talent and drive she has always been a candidate for college scholarships. Although she is making a remarkable recovery, many of her plans for the future have been affected by this terrible accident. Dance for a Wish has chosen to donate a portion of the funds raised at the dance and auction this year toward a college scholarship fund for Amanda.
